About Prof Ngozi Egbuna International Center for Regional Integration and Trade Research

History was made on Thursday, May 16, 2023, at the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka in Anambra State, Nigeria with the inauguration and establishment of the Prof. Ngozi Eunice Egbuna International Center for Regional Integration and Trade Research. The vision of the center is to facilitate groundbreaking research and capacity building to drive Africa’s progress in regional integration and trade. The mission is rooted in the belief that regional integration and international trade play pivotal roles in fostering economic development, stability, and cooperation among nations. To achieve these through Capacity Building, Knowledge Creation, Dissemination, Interdisciplinary Approach, and Policy Relevance from a Global Perspective.

The center is poised to provide intellectual, technical, and professional inputs to bolster African governmental and nongovernmental efforts to realize the African region’s economic integration and trade development through focused capacity building in the Postgraduate and Diploma levels as well as short certificate courses.  We are determined to be in the vanguard of supporting African regional institutions through cutting-edge research in trade and regional integration.

The Director of the center was recently awarded the World Trade Organization (WTO) Chair Programme.
